Saturn return (can be used for transiting Saturn) through the houses:

1st house: When Saturn is in your first house, you are getting serious about who you are and how you show up for yourself and others. You are taking responsibility for your desires and ability to be in control of yourself. Are you showing up in a way that aligns with your highest self? Are you surrounded by people who fix you to a version of yourself that cannot evolve?

Saturn transiting the first house can decrease overall energy levels; it will become apparent where you are overextending yourself and not getting proportional benefit from those efforts. Remember that rest can be productive as well.

2nd house: When Saturn transits your second house, you are getting serious about managing your resources, which is more commonly your finances, but it also means you as a resource. Are you undervaluing yourself? Could you be doing something to improve your value? You will be getting serious about finding your own sense of personal security and about aligning your value systems.

When Saturn transits your second house, it will increase stress related to your possessions. Valuables, money, self-possession. The second house can be seen as how we use what we have. Saturn will put you in positions where you need to be hyper intentional about how we expend what belongs to us. Ideally, we choose things that will pay us back in the long run; however, in the beginning, we may find ourselves draining our assets into things that soothe us in the short term.

3rd house: When Saturn transits your third house, it’s time to get serious about what you say and how you say it. Saturn in the third house makes it abundantly clear where communication channels break down. Because the 3rd house also rules the ability to learn, this is an opportunity to gain knowledge on how to communicate more effectively (this also involves listening). What can I do to make sure that what I am saying is received the way I intend? Can I say more of what I mean with fewer words? What can I learn from what I am hearing?

Saturn, through the house of communication and education, will likely involve some remediation and practice in the way that you speak to yourself and others. Your inner monologue impacts your outer world. Gaining control of how you think through things will yield rewards. This is also a good time to develop practices like meditation or journaling to help the mind process information.

4th House: When Saturn transits your 4th house, you learn that to take control of your life, you need a stable home base that is secure and supports the development and nurturing of emotional bonds. Do I have a space where I trust myself to be open, honest, and vulnerable with those around me? Am I in touch with my deepest needs and desires? Can I provide the emotional depth that I need from others?

When Saturn transits your 4th house, it will trigger your sense of self within intimate dynamics (specifically familial situations) and show you where there is a need to be more cognizant about who you share your more private details with. Not everyone deserves access to all parts of you, and sometimes those people are the ones that we have been with all of our lives.

5th house: When Saturn transits the 5th house, you are getting serious about what you have in your heart and soul and taking charge of following it. Are you guided by the validation of others or by the content of your soul? Do you alienate yourself by placing people around you on a pedestal? When you express yourself wholly and responsibly, who still wants to be around you?

When Saturn transits your 5th house, you are learning what to say and do with who you really are. You are cultivating the courage to be disliked by the wrong people and celebrated by the right people. As a result of being aligned, you will experience true closeness with others through their admiration for your authenticity.

6th house: When Saturn transits your 6th house, you are getting serious about your sense of duty and how you serve yourself and others. Are you overextending yourself by regularly sacrificing your body and health for others? Are you keeping yourself busy for the sake of being busy, or to force an outcome into reality?

The sixth house represents the day-to-day tasks we must perform. When Saturn is hosted in this house, you will be taking inventory of your daily habits and determining whether or not those habits still give you what you need. By continuing these habits, you will likely run into issues that impede your ability to exist. For example, if you struggle with overexerting yourself at work

7th house: When Saturn transits your 7th house, you are learning lessons about discovering the other person’s true identity and cultivating a happy, successful partnership. This can come in the form of people who show you what dysfunction in relationships looks like. Causing you to reflect on things like, Is it worth supporting someone who does not have my best interest at heart? What do I need in my life to accept a union that brings value to my life as opposed to stripping it away?

As this transit occurs, expect people to reveal who they are in a way that cannot be ignored. This kind of transit can at first feel very isolating, but this isolation is a redirection towards the people who are better aligned with who you are growing into.

8th house: When Saturn transits your 8th house, you are learning lessons around your need for intimacy alongside your desire for power and autonomy. You are learning to constructively merge with others while maintaining your own sense of control. This can look like entering intimate relationships and not losing track of your own passions, desires, and who you are as an individual.

As this transit takes place, you will find yourself shouldering responsibilities related to managing debts, other people’s resources, and transforming in ways that feel authentic to you.

9th house: When Saturn transits your 9th house, the lessons you are learning will be around redefining your belief systems and getting rooted in the truth that resonates with you. When I think of significant transits through the 9th house, there is almost always this undertone of belief systems. In this case, Saturn shows us where our beliefs are holding us back from realizing our true potential. Some questions that come to mind when I think about the Saturn transit in the 9th house. Who benefits from the beliefs that I hold? Does the person I am becoming align with what I believe is true today?

During this transit, there will be a direct challenge to what you believe to be the truth. What Saturn is trying to get you to do is to align yourself with a belief that aligns with your higher self.

10th house: When Saturn transits your 10th house, you are learning to take your public image seriously. You are taking control of your life and reputation by establishing yourself as an expert or authority in an area (usually in the workplace, but also in non-work-related regions). What opportunities can I align myself with to cultivate my reputation? Does my ambition align with my highest purpose?

During this transit, you will likely take on additional responsibility, expand your capabilities, and demonstrate your skills at a public level.

11th house: When Saturn is transiting your 11th house, you will be learning lessons related to distinguishing yourself from others and achieving larger life dreams. This will put you in situations that show you’re out of alignment with your social circle, so you can find people who are aligned with you. You might find yourself asking, Is it the people who know who I’ve been that keep me from being the person that I am?

As Saturn transits this house, you will be measuring the value of your current network, meeting new people, and adjusting the course of your life to be in alignment with where you need to go to be connected to truly like-minded people.

12th house: When Saturn transits your 12th house, you are tasked with facing the things that have been left undone. These are psychological/subconscious/generational wounds that need to be acknowledged and addressed. We are responsible for sifting through our own emotional baggage and deciding how we need to move forward with it. It makes me think of this quote that I revisit from time to time. “It’s not the weight of the load that burdens you, it’s how you carry it.”

As Saturn transits this house, you might find sleep and rest more critical, and you might also find that you are by yourself more and more throughout Saturn’s duration through your 12th house. It would be a productive use of your time to meditate on the emotional triggers that come up and sit with those emotions so that you can regulate those feelings and come out of this transit with the tools to hold space for the parts of you that are less acceptable in the public world.
