The New Moon in Sagittarius: Embracing Possibilities and Trusting the Unknown

The new moon in Sagittarius invites us to step into a space of boundless potential and infinite possibility. Under this lunation, all possibilities exist—but only if we are willing to release our grip on certainty and trust in the magic of the unknown.

This is the last light of the year before we plunge ourselves into the darkest parts of the season. It is a torch we carry through the long nights and brief days. It guides us and reminds us that, though it may seem dark now, the light will return. Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, infuses this moon with an optimistic glow, encouraging us to dream boldly even when clarity feels far away.

    Living the Questions

As we step into this celestial void, the path will rise to meet us, though it may not be in the way we expect. Sagittarius’ fiery energy encourages adventure, expansion, and the bold pursuit of possibility. Ruled by Jupiter, this moon is brimming with optimism, reminding us to aim high and trust in the abundant opportunities that the universe offers. It invites us to stretch beyond our current limitations and dare to dream bigger.

At the same time, Saturn’s presence asks for a dose of reality. It challenges us to commit to our vision for the long haul, emphasizing that all things worth having require effort and endurance. This isn’t about instant gratification—Saturn reminds us that the journey toward anything meaningful is often hard-fought, not because the universe is against us, but because we must overcome our own self-sabotaging tendencies.

The combination of Jupiter’s expansive vision and Saturn’s enduring willpower offers a potent message: dream big, but prepare to meet the challenges along the way. This moon invites us to look at where we’ve been hesitant to fully commit to our dreams and to embrace the discipline required to bring them to life.

Rainer Maria Rilke’s timeless advice feels especially resonant now: “Live the questions now.” When we are sitting with unresolved questions or longing for answers that seem just out of reach, it can feel unbearable. But Rilke reminds us that we often wouldn’t know what to do with the answers even if they were handed to us prematurely. This moon is an invitation to be patient with the unknown, trusting that your future self will understand what your present self cannot.

These nuggets of wisdom are offerings for times when the uncertainty feels overwhelming. Sagittarius urges us to trust the unfolding of the journey, while Saturn anchors us, ensuring we have the perseverance to stay the course.

    Releasing the Need for Explanation

For many of us, this moon may bring moments of deep introspection. Perhaps you’ve found yourself wrestling with the feeling, “Maybe they don’t understand me, or maybe I’m learning to release myself from the need to explain myself.”

Sagittarius energy thrives in truth and freedom. The new moon may reveal where we’ve been tied to others’ expectations or to the need for external validation. It encourages us to focus on our inner compass—our truth—rather than exhausting ourselves trying to justify our choices to others.

    The Stability of Saturn

Adding to the richness of this moon, Saturn’s influence exerts stability, balance, and reliability. While Sagittarius pushes us to expand, Saturn grounds us, reminding us that lasting growth comes through discipline and commitment. Together, they weave a harmonious balance between dreaming big and taking practical steps to realize those dreams.

This is a moon for visionaries, but also for those who are willing to do the work of carrying that vision forward through the long winter nights. It’s not just about what you want to manifest—it’s about how you show up for it, again and again, even when the path ahead feels unclear.

A Torch for the Darkest Nights

As we close the year and prepare to face the depths of winter, let this Sagittarius new moon be a light in the darkness. It is the torch we carry through the long nights and brief days, guiding us toward hope and reminding us that the light will return. Trust that as you step out into the unknown, the universe will conspire to meet you where you are.

This new moon encourages us to hold our questions gently, to nurture our dreams patiently, and to trust the process of becoming. The answers will come in their time, and until then, may you find solace in the journey itself.

  • Full moon in Sagittarius – Big Vision

Full moon in Sagittarius – Big Vision

The key to the full moon in Sagittarius is to stay optimistic, keep the flame alive, and center your big picture. You are at the wheel, determining the direction of your life. Like with all full moons now is a time to release so we can bring in new more aligned things into our life.

Sagittarius wants to be free, to go deep and gain wisdom. At times external pressures seem to work against that drive, they serve no purpose other than to play us out of our own abundance. The take away is to trust ourselves enough follow our own intuition and discernment as we blaze forward.

The plant that co-rules this full moon in Sagittarius is Jupiter, which is still in Taurus. What this tells us is that the universe is here to provide, all we need to do is go out and cultivate the thing that we desire. The only requirement is that you are rooted in your ‘why’ and you are willing to adapt and transform as you need in order to reach that goal. The tallest trees have the deepest roots.

Venus is also a key player in this full moon because it will be conjunct Jupiter. Venus’ influence helps find balance and harmonize the changes necessary to move on.

We are continuing to synthesize the events of the Aries eclipse and the Uranus Jupiter conjunction back in April. What new things have we learned? how are we being asked to adapt. How have we defined and re-defined ourselves? Has this change impacted our course in life. As we march forward with these lessons, the activation of Sagittarius tells us to connect with the part of ourselves that is free of ego and its perceived divisions.
